Business Friendly and Incentives
The City of Rifle offers several forms of assistance and incentives to businesses and industries that meet the City’s economic goal of new primary jobs and economic vitality. City Council may approve incentives such as fee waivers, infrastructure assistance, sales tax rebates, or other forms of financial assistance. Staff is dedicated to finding creative methods to make projects pencil out for the developer. Staff works closely with the Rifle Regional Economic Development Corporation (RREDC) to collaborate with the business community.

Land Availability
The City of Rifle has many private lots available for commercial and industrial development. The City of Rifle owns several downtown Opportunity Sites to partner with developers to bring retail, restaurant, office, and housing near downtown amenities such as the 7-plex Brenden Theater. In addition, the City of Rifle has developed the “Energy Innovation Center” with approximately 35 acres of industrial pad sites available for long-term lease with infrastructure already installed, and an additional 100 acres that the City intends to extend services to in the future. The City of Rifle seeks to attract energy-related employers to the site, including businesses related to natural gas, oil, solar, or biofuels.
