CITY FEATURES
LOCATION
New Castle’s unique location makes it an attractive place to do business. The town is located at the western edge of the Rocky Mountains, just east of Plateau Country. The Grand Hogback, which stretches over 100 miles, crosses the Colorado River at New Castle forming the southern and western edge of town.
GATEWAY TO WILDERNESS
The New Castle-Buford Road provides direct access to the heart of the Flattops Wilderness and the White River Forest. This area provides opportunities for hunting, fishing, backpacking, camping, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and a range of other wilderness activities. Wilderness access brings many outdoor recreationists through the town, where they patronize our businesses. The town is also home to the award-winning Lakota Canyon Ranch Golf Course and thirteen town parks.
READY FOR BUSINESS
The town of 4500 offers mountain living, with a wide range of housing options. Easy access to Interstate 70 and the Garfield County Airport makes it attractive to light industry and retail investors. Commercial space and building lots are available on Main Street and near the I-70 interchange, and there are opportunities for development in both mixed-use areas and industrial and performance zones. The Town offers incentives for qualifying businesses.
